psoriasis and shingles connection
Connection between Shingles and Herpes
Hello there,
Everything in this blog is based on my opinion even if it's based on facts.
In 2021, I was working at a Farmer's Market in Paramount. The city makes up a majority of Mexican, Hispanic born people. Often someone in their family suffers from psoriasis. I have been in business for over 5 years this was the first time I thought of formulating products for chronic conditions. Psoriasis is a viral autoimmune disorder that causes the skin cells to over grow into scaly patches on different parts of the body. Places like the scalp, elbows, knees, shoulders, between toes as well, and even morph into psoriatic arthritis for those when they get older. Psoriasis can run in the family. Psoriasis can accelerate from smoking, stress, skin injuries, throat infections, certain medications, cold weather, and alcohol.
One thing I have noticed about psoriasis is shingles, and herpes come from the same source as the immune system. Viruses like HIV, Herpes, and Psoriasis attack T cells causing the immune system to become defenseless.
Chicken Pox is a virus that is connected to shingles, and herpes. Although herpes is contracted sexually and by kissing it's a reoccurring virus because once the virus is in your bloodstream your immune system can't fight off the effects of the virus. I read two different opinions about shingles. One is that you can get shingles if you had chicken pox as a child, and you can get shingles if you never had chicken pox. If you have a family history of chicken pox, shingles, and psoriasis getting the chicken pox vaccine can suppress symptoms like skin cell overgrowth.
Immune system when it's unhealthy we are subjected to getting sick! I learned that we have 3 immune systems. Our thyroid, gut, and pancreas are where hormone imbalances begin and end also where our immune system is housed. In my opinion to help curb the symptoms you need to treat all 3 areas! Since sore throats are common in psoriasis herbs like hawthorne root, echinacea, elderberry, burdock, and mullen can help quiet throat irritations. Some of the herbs mentioned can remove plaque or mucus out of the bloodstream promoting a healthier immune system.
Ginger tea and probiotics can help promote a healthy gut also eating a non inflammatory diet can help as well. Acorn and butternut squash along with sweet potatoes can help with calming inflammation within the body. Anything that creates mucus can further damage your immune system that's why it's important to eat an anti inflammatory diet. For topical remedies I suggest something non steroid and when you would use it for a baby. Topical creams with little to no fragrance with Avocado oil or hemp oil are best recommended for psoriasis.
